14th November 2016, a fruitful culinary workshop was co-organised by TAR UC’s Faculty of Social Science, Arts and Humanities (FSAH) and the Chinese Chef Association of Kuala Lumpur.
Held at TAR UC’s Auditorium, the event was attended by Dato’ Seri Lau Wai Kiong, Adviser of Chinese Chef Association of Kuala Lumpur, Mr Yap Yook Wah, President of Chinese Chef Association of Kuala Lumpur, and Chef Willment Leong, Chairman of World Chef Without Borders who were warmly welcomed by Datuk Dr Tan Chik Heok, President of TAR UC, including invited Guest Speaker, Chef KK Yau.

It is a sad day when a guy who put so much of his own time and energy into volunteering then passes away doing what he loved, telling the Chefs World in his words what is going on.
I have known Maurice for quite a long time and will miss his many emails chasing items that he could put on ChampChefs, a web paged dedicated to the chefs who compete and pass on information.
To his family – I would like on behalf of many chefs send to you a ‘Thank you’ for the time you allowed Maurice to spend on his computer working for chefs with no financial gain. I am sure each chef around
The world who knew Maurice will take one minute silence for him.

Thomas A. Gugler, the New President of Worldchefs. At the Worldchefs Congress 2016 in Thessaloniki, Greece, Thomas A. Gugler, was elected as the President for Worldchefs for the coming 4 years. His Presidium includes: Martin Kobald (Vice President) Uwe Micheel (Assistant Vice President), Cornelia Volino (General Secretary) and K.K. Yau special assignment Liaison for Asia.
Previously Continental Director of Africa & Middle East), Gugler beat two other candidates to the Presidency seat.
Thomas is also a certified Executive Master Chef who has won hundreds of medals and awards as well as tokens of appreciation from all around the globe. He works as the Corporate Director of Kitchens for AFS(Arabian Food Supplies) Naghi Group.
